Call for UK Scrappage Scheme to be Extended
The EEF, Engineering Employers Federation, has called for the government to extend the car scrappage scheme. The scheme is currently due to end in February 2010 or when the £300m the government has allocated runs out. There are worries that car sales will fall sharply, the recession busting scheme has boosted sales for the industry and saved thousands of jobs.
