Industrial Output on the Rise
Figures from the Office for National Statistics showed a 0.3% increase in production after a run of falls from March 2008. Britain’s factories ceased production after the financial markets were paralysed in September 2008. However since this time factories have run down stocks of goods and need to increase output to meet demand. If this increase in output is sustained in June the second quarter of 2009 would show the first increase in gross domestic product since the first three months of 2008.
National Temporary Workers Week
National Temporary Workers week is REC’s annual campaign to promote the contribution of the temporary workforce and demonstrate the broad range of professions and industries that temps work in. Branches Nationwide are taking part to find the top temps of 2009 and reward them for all their hard work!
With attitudes to work changing, variety and flexibility increasingly seen as key indicators of job satisfaction, ‘temping’ is becoming the choice for more and more workers. Contact your local branch today to find out more information and sign up as a temporary worker!
